Emirates has been recognized as the ‘World’s Best Airline’ among 90 global carriers in a thorough study by Telegraph Travel. This ranking was determined using over 30 criteria, including punctuality, baggage allowance, route network, airport quality, fleet age, rewards program value, and in-flight meal quality, referencing data from more than 18 independent awards, reader polls, and expert reviews.
Described as a “worthy winner,” the study highlighted that Emirates excels in nearly every category, including baggage allowance and punctuality. The airline operates the largest fleet of double-decker Airbus A380s, which passengers appreciate for their spaciousness and legroom, especially in economy class. The A380 is equipped with advanced technology, including noise-reducing cabins, sophisticated air filtration systems, and an innovative lighting design that adapts to the time of day, enhancing passenger comfort. The article notes that Emirates’ premium economy is the best available, while its business class offers a chauffeur service to and from the airport—a rarity today. First class boasts the finest wine selection among airlines and even features showers. Emirates also has an extensive route network, serving 140 cities across 77 countries and was named the best long-haul carrier by 30,000 Telegraph Travel readers.
The study employed an independent methodology to evaluate 90 airlines based on their annual passenger numbers, assigning points for performance in areas such as reliability, connectivity, luggage policies, in-flight experience, fleet age, home airport quality, rewards program value, safety, heritage, lounge quality, and various reader polls and rankings.
In 2024 alone, Emirates has won 19 additional awards from various sources, including seven accolades at the Skytrax World Airline Awards in June, recognizing it for the best in-flight entertainment, first-class amenities, and being the most family-friendly airline in the Middle East, among others.
At the Pax International Magazine Awards, Emirates was named the best for inflight entertainment and connectivity in the Middle East. The airline also excelled at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards, taking home awards for ‘Best Airline Worldwide’ and several others for premium offerings. Additionally, Emirates received top honors at the World Travel Awards for being the leading airline in the Middle East.
Emirates is not affiliated with any awards or polls and does not pay to enter them.
