Kia Corporation unveiled its latest electric vehicle models—the EV4, PV5, and Concept EV2—at the 2025 Kia EV Day in Tarragona, Spain. This marks a significant milestone in Kia’s ambitious electrification strategy, showcasing the brand’s determination to energize the global EV market.
The three models revealed at the event further cement Kia’s leadership in the electric vehicle sector. The Kia PV5, Kia’s first dedicated Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) model, exemplifies the brand’s pioneering role in the PBV market and highlights its rapid expansion into personalized mobility solutions.
The Kia EV4, which was initially presented as a concept at Kia’s 2023 EV Day in Seoul, is Kia’s first electrified sedan and hatchback. Expanding the appeal of Kia’s mainstream lineup—which includes the award-winning Kia EV9 (2024 World Car of the Year) and Kia EV6 (2022 European Car of the Year)—the EV4 offers innovative features that push the boundaries of the C-segment sedan category and cater to a wide range of consumers.
Meanwhile, the Kia Concept EV2 previews a new B-segment SUV EV, further expanding Kia’s electric vehicle lineup. Like the EV4, it aims to make EVs more accessible, with features that exceed expectations for its class and provide innovative driving experiences.
The Kia PV5, first revealed as a concept at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, is the flagship model of Kia’s new PBV strategy. It introduces a new form of electric vehicle flexibility, with a highly modular design that sets the stage for future innovations in EV usability.
Built on a specialized platform designed to enhance hardware, software, customer experiences, and manufacturing processes, the PV5 plays a key role in transforming the global market, bringing both personal and business mobility solutions to new heights.
In addition to showcasing these groundbreaking models, the event provided a deeper look at Kia’s ongoing efforts to accelerate and transform the global EV landscape.
“Kia remains dedicated to becoming the world’s leading EV brand and a provider of sustainable mobility solutions by expanding the options and experiences available to our customers,” said Kia President and CEO Ho Sung Song. “With models like the Kia EV4 and the vision represented by the Kia Concept EV2, we aim to democratize EV ownership and make sustainable mobility accessible to all.”
Song also emphasized the importance of meeting the growing demand for customized products and experiences. “As a first mover in the PBV sector, Kia, through the PV5, merges a customer-first mindset with advanced EV technology to reshape personal mobility.”
The 2025 Kia EV Day is the brand’s second such event, with Spain chosen as the venue due to its significance in Kia’s electrification strategy, driven by the rapid growth of the European EV market.
During the event, Kia presented a total of nine vehicles, including the Concept EV2 and four variants of the EV4—two four-door sedans and two five-door hatchbacks. Additionally, four different PV5 configurations were showcased, illustrating the model’s industry-transforming flexibility, with variants such as PV5 ‘Cargo’, PV5 ‘Passenger’, PV5 ‘Wheelchair Access Vehicle’ (WAV), and the PV5 ‘Crew’, a flagship conversion model developed and produced by Kia.
Kia also highlighted its innovative PBV-dedicated E-GMP.S (Electric-Global Modular Platform for Service) architecture, which supports flexible configurations through its modular body system.
The exhibition further showcased Kia AddGear, a customization platform that enables customers to personalize their PBV models with a wide range of accessories, enhancing functionality for both personal and business use.
Additionally, the event featured a partnership with Samsung Electronics, spotlighting SmartThings Pro—a versatile Internet of Things (IoT) system designed for PBVs that provides plug-and-play services to optimize business operations remotely within the vehicle.
