Samsung Electronics has unveiled plans to build one of the world’s most advanced AI factories in collaboration with NVIDIA, marking a bold new step in intelligent manufacturing. The project  powered by more than 50,000 NVIDIA GPUs  will revolutionize how Samsung designs, produces, and manages its semiconductor and electronic components, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in AI-driven manufacturing.

A New Era for Smart Manufacturing

Samsung’s partnership with NVIDIA isn’t just about increasing production capacity it’s about transforming how factories think and operate. By integrating AI, robotics, and digital twin technology, Samsung is shifting from traditional automation to a self-optimizing, intelligent factory model.

The new AI factory will use NVIDIA’s Omniverse platform to create digital twins of Samsung’s manufacturing facilities. This virtual simulation technology allows engineers to test and optimize processes in real time — predicting potential issues, improving efficiency, and reducing downtime before changes are made on the production floor.

50,000 NVIDIA GPUs Powering the Future

To make this vision possible, Samsung will deploy over 50,000 NVIDIA GPUs, a move that underscores the company’s deep commitment to accelerated computing and AI development. These powerful processors will handle everything from computational lithography to predictive maintenance, making Samsung’s semiconductor fabrication faster, smarter, and more sustainable.

According to reports, Samsung is already achieving up to 20x performance improvements in key manufacturing tasks, such as optical proximity correction (OPC) lithography, by using NVIDIA’s CUDA-X and cuLitho libraries.

Beyond Korea: Global Expansion Planned

While the initiative begins in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, Samsung plans to roll out this AI-driven manufacturing infrastructure globally — including its new semiconductor site in Taylor, Texas. This expansion highlights Samsung’s long-term vision of connecting all its fabs and production lines into one unified, AI-powered ecosystem.

A 25-Year Partnership Reaches New Heights

This collaboration builds on a 25-year relationship between Samsung and NVIDIA. Samsung has long been a key supplier of HBM (High-Bandwidth Memory) and other components critical to NVIDIA’s GPUs. Now, the companies are joining forces to build the very AI infrastructure that will drive the next generation of advanced chips — including those that may power NVIDIA’s future Blackwell and Rubin architectures.

Why It Matters

  • Smarter production: AI algorithms will optimize workflows, equipment performance, and yield rates.

  • Faster innovation: Digital twins shorten development cycles and reduce errors.

  • Sustainability: Predictive analytics can lower waste and energy consumption.

  • Global competitiveness: The initiative positions Samsung as a leader in Industry 4.0 and AI-enabled manufacturing.

What This Means for the Industry

Samsung’s AI factory represents a major leap toward fully intelligent manufacturing, where machines not only execute tasks but continuously learn and improve. It also signals a new standard for global production, where data, AI, and hardware work seamlessly together.

As more tech giants invest in similar initiatives, the future of manufacturing will be defined not just by efficiency — but by intelligence.
