The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has announced its report on the state of artificial intelligence (AI) in Saudi Arabia, highlighting the country’s significant advancements in AI technologies over the past five years.
Established in 2019, SDAIA is responsible for the regulation and operation of data and AI in the Kingdom.
During a press conference at the King Abdulaziz Conference Center, Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, the president of SDAIA, discussed the progress Saudi Arabia has made in AI from 2019 to 2023. The report illustrates global recognition of the Kingdom’s efforts in AI, focusing on seven key pillars: policies, regulations, investment, infrastructure, data, human talent and capabilities, research and innovation, and accreditation.
Furthermore, the report emphasizes SDAIA’s role in leading digital transformation and advancing the national agenda for data and AI, which includes promoting AI adoption across government entities, raising public awareness, ensuring strategic implementation, and utilizing data and AI technologies throughout the Kingdom.
